So......

So it has been almost another 6 months since Emily or I updated our blog. We do have some news, Emily is pregnant and she hits 12 weeks tomorrow. Emily is due April 29, 2012 right after graduation. Emily and I will both be walking in April and Emily will finish up her internship and be done in July.

We are both still going to school and working hard. Emily is finishing up her last semester of classes and starting in January she will start her 6 month internship at Utah Valley Hospital. I am finishing up the last of my business class this semester and next. Emily is still working at the MTC (Missionary Training Center) and I work there on Sundays for the breakfast shift. I am still working with Ladd up in Salt Lake City. My internship is moving right along we now have a website and our Facebook page is moving along same with our Twitter. Life is good and we are both happy and excited about the new addition to our family. We find out in about a month if we are having a girl or a boy. We are going to try and update our blog a lot more regularly than we have in the past.

UPDATE!!

Okay it is time to update Emily and my blog. Let me start with Emily. She is working at the Missionary Training Center (MTC) still as a supervisor. She works Monday, Wednesday, and Friday so it isn't too bad which is nice. She is also going to school taking 7 credits. She is taking Cell Biology, Microbiology Lab, and Technical Writing. They are all very time consuming but she is doing a great job and is over halfway done!! Emily went to garage sales this past weekend with our good friend Holly (she came to our wedding with her husband Alex Steed). Emily bought some good stuff Notting Hill for a dollar, 50 First Dates for a dollar, a sweet Tommy tie for 25 cents, a Harley Davidson book for Luke and a cool car for Luke. She does great with the kids and she is always playing with them. She built Luke and Lily a castle out of cardboard boxes a couple of weeks ago and they always talk about it still. Luke and Lily also bring up how Emily needs to build them their Chain Chomp Bean Bag (Chain Chomp is from Mario Kart on the Wii). Needless to say the kids love having Emily around to do crazy and spontaneous things.

Then there is me and what I am doing. On Saturday June 4th I am taking my big test. I am a little scared but it should not be too bad...I hope ha ha. The main thing that I have been doing though is my internship. I am working for Vukii and I am in-charge of their Social Media. I go up to Salt Lake City near Little Cottonwood Canyon for work everyday. I head up there because the other company that Ladd is heading up is doing Social Media stuff so I am working with them to move things forward for that company and also for Vukii. To get a good grasp of what I am doing I highly recommend watching the video at the bottom of this post. I like what I am doing the only thing that I do not like is the commute. I leave at 7 am every morning get to work at 8 am. I leave work around 4:30 pm and I get home around 5:45 pm. It is okay though I am getting paid nicely and it is guaranteed 40 hours a week so I am not complaining. That is all in Emily and my life right now.

Internships

So Emily and I both have some fantastic internship opportunities right now. For Emily's major she has to work in a hospital for six months starting next January 2012 and it ends in July 2012. She could have been sent to St. George, Provo, American Fork, Murray, Salt Lake City, and Idaho Falls, Idaho. Luckily Emily is staying close and will be at Provo hospital, which is right down the street from BYU. It is an unpaid internship but she can pick up 20 hours a week and will get paid for those hours.

As of right now I am working with a consulting company called RPM LLC. It is a lot of fun and I have been creating a blog and putting posts about entrepreneurs and such on the blog. Go check it out it is for a company called DooBizz. I have been looking for another internship though because I would rather be doing something else and I got an email about an internship opportunity here in Orem for a startup company called Vukii Watersports. I sent my resume in the day I received the email and two days later I got a phone call from Mark Webb who did a phone interview with me. He then told me that I would be interviewing with him personally last Thursday and it went super well. There were three parts of the interview, the first part was a behavioral interview, then I had to take a test that quizzed my problem solving skills, and the last part was on the computer and how well I could follow directions. He emailed me a couple of days later and I then set up another interview with the main guy for yesterday and it went really well. What we did though was more of he explained to me what my responsibility would be and what characteristics he was looking for and then instructed me to go home and think about if this is something I really want to do. If it is something I want to do then I need to email Mark Webb by Monday saying yes I do and then we will go from there. I am excited and I hope it moves forward because it would be an awesome opportunity. The company has no financial models, no budgets, no accounting, and no forecasts. Basically I would be doing all of that, there are seven employees and they are all engineers and I would be the only business guy. I would be over all of the finances, which is a huge responsibility but a great learning experience which is something that I am very interested in doing. I will keep ya'll posted on what happens with this opportunity.

Hiking the Y

So I am about to post a couple of posts here explaining what has been happening with Emily and I since we got married in May ha ha. To start off Emily, Danielle (Emily's cousin), and I hiked the Y last Saturday before the 2nd session of General Conference. It was a lot of fun and the first time I have hiked the Y since I came and visited Cari and Katie when they were still going to school here at BYU/UVSC. We took a couple of pictures and Emily and I laid upside down on the Y and it was freaky ha ha.

WAY TOO LONG!!!!

Okay so it has been a while since I have updated this blog thingy but it is our day off today so I decided to get cracking on updating the blog. Everything is going well. We got married on May 7th and both Emily's and my siblings were there which was fantastic. It was super hot and humid but very pretty and we would not have traded it for the world. We headed on down to Corpus Christi for our honeymoon and it was fantastic. The wind was blowing the entire time at a constant 40 mph. We did go to the beach but with the wind we did not stay long. We did go to the retired battle ship that was there and that was really cool. They shot part of the movie Pearl Harbor in the boat which was cool because they have a Pearl Harbor memorial inside the boat that we toured. We ate at some good restaurants, Joe's Crab Shack, Buffalo Wild Wings, On the Border, and Katz 21 (a steak restaurant really good but way too pricey). After the honeymoon we headed back to Houston and stayed the night there and then started our long drive to Kansas City and then onto Provo. We had a fantastic reception at Deer Creek Golf Club where I worked at for a number of years. It was super pretty with awesome food and company. Emily's sister Melissa and her family were in town so they came to the reception. Seth was able to be there and he took pictures of Emily and I and especially of Emily's train!! We left on Sunday morning to start our drive to Provo and it was good until about halfway through Wyoming when we both died ha ha. We are now moved into our apartment and it is very nice and still working on making it our own. But Emily has done a great job of adding color to our apartment and making crafts. She has been very crafty over the past couple of weeks, it is really cool some of the things she makes out of almost nothing. Sorry about no pictures but we will be adding some later when I get them off of my camera.

ENGAGEMENT PICTURES

Sorry that I have been a total slacker on updating this thing ha ha. Emily and I went to Houston this past week took our engagement pictures and planned a bunch of the wedding. This is what we have so far: our colors orange, pink, with black and white as accent colors. We took our engagement pictures here and we just love the layout and how it looks. Emily and I are figuring out center pieces, food for the reception her bouquet and all that other fun stuff. I think we are having a 4 tier cake and the cake will be chocolate and either lemon or strawberry. Things are moving along and here are some of my favorite engagement pictures that we took...enjoy!

BYU vs Utah Game

Emily and I all week were debating about trying to sell our tickets or not. We finally decided to just go and enjoy ourselves because the next time it will be at BYU will be in two years when we will both be seniors and on our last leg of school. Our seats were not bad on the 10 yard line on the east bleachers about 20 rows from the top. We came out hot and it felt good, but then the start of the second half BYU looked flat and that was not good. Emily and I both got scared but we went into OT and I was pretty excited for that. Utah kicked a field goal to go ahead by three. We then got the ball and on our second play Max Hall threw an amazing pass to George who basically walked it in for the touchdown and the win. GO BYU!!!!!!
